SAINT-FULGENCE - A Saguenay park has come up with a novel way to
attract new visitors to its pristine surroundings: treehouses.
Dany Bouchard, general manager of Parc Cape Jaseux de Saint-Fulgence,
says $500,000 is being invested in two cottages to be built around
hundred-year-old pine trees at a height of 20 metres.
Each treehouse will be accessible by exterior staircases and be
large enough to accommodate six people with sleeping quarters
constructed on indoor mezannine levels. Outdoor terraces will offer
unspoled views of the Saguenay fjord.
The treehouses will be located along a trail that leads to a nearby
beach. They are expected to be ready for occupation starting this
fall.
