all this talk about the mayor and board must go is really getting old. so far its all talk and no action. if there is some process for getting her recalled then get the thing started already. i myself would vote for someone else if i think they would do more than rosemary and i do believe there is more rosemary could be doing. the city officials may just be right on one thing though. there does seem to be a silent majority and its keeps showing up at the polls.

| city supporter | silent majority | there is a silent majority. i think that played out in last elections. prove me wrong if you can, but i believe every candidate who supported the treehouse was defeated. (mosley, taylor, weisenburger, brantley, touchston, welch, pitts, patton, etc). then you could not get enough names on a petition to have the bond issue voted on. the school bond issue passed with around 88% in favor. i spoke with several clintonions who are very supportive of the new ordinance amendments. the only reason they will not voice their opinion in a public meeting is because they dont want to get ridiculed and screamed at in a public setting. i was at both public hearings and anyone who spoke in favor of the new ordinance was ridiculed and embarassed. rosemary and the rest of the board could be re-elected as long as they want to. do you know that the judge on the supreme court who wrote the opinion father owns a lot of land in the annexed area. they are two very powerful men within state politics.(waller and waller) if you all would open your eyes you would see why clinton needs to annex. west jackson is spreading quickly into our city. | 2/19/2006 5:48:13 PM |

1. beer sales. (defeated several times in elections)
2. the parkway.(defeated several times in elections)
3. the treehouse lawsuit. (made us look bad nationally)
4. the annexation (people outside the city had no idea that the hearing was taking place)
5. the "visitors center" (no vote)
6. the balloon bonds (no vote)
7. the "football field" bonds(no vote)
8. the "maintenance facility" bonds (no vote)
9. the "subdivision park" bonds (no vote)
10.the retro taxing of newly annexed citizens.
11.the ordinances.
can anyone think of more? i know that "lakside" is going to say im negative for even mentioning this, but darn it, i have concerns.
