Dear Mayor and City Aldermen,

Scot and Mary Welch have built a beautiful tree house for their children and the children of their neighborhood, which the City of Clinton says they must now remove after 6 years.

I believe tearing down this treehouse would be unfair to the Welches because the Hinds County Circuit Court has approved the treehouse and declared it legal.  It would be very unfair to the children of our community who gather there daily. As a city we should want what's best for our children. It will be their city one day.

I do not appreciate your decision to appeal the Treehouse to the Mississippi Supreme Court.  This appeal is a waste of time, money and city resources.  The Honorable Judge Tomie Green was fair and backed her decision with Supreme Court rulings and state law.

This tree house is an asset for the City of Clinton. Use it to help promote "The most livable city" in the state. Tearing it down would make Clinton look like a city that does not care for its children.

Please keep the treehouse and do not waste more taxpayer dollars.
